Spinal Adjustment

What is spinal adjustment?

spinal adjustment , also known as chiropractic manipulation or manual manipulation, involves the gentle, therapeutic manipulation of your vertebrae, or the bones that make up your spine.

This includes addressing issues with vertebrae that are not functioning properly or that do not have a normal movement pattern.

The primary goals of spinal adjustment are to relieve pain, reduce subluxations (misalignments) and nerve irritation, increase the range of motion of the joints, and improve overall function.

Treatment

What does the treatment include?

To find out the origin of the symptoms, I will do, before the treatment, a global examination regarding the nervous system in particular on reflexes and flexibility and possibly I could also perform standard postural, orthopedic and neurological checks.

Depending on the patient’s specific condition, I may also recommend x-rays or MRIs to determine the best course of treatment.

Treatments are performed on a chiropractic table. Although there are many manipulative techniques in chiropractic, a spinal treatment typically involves rapid motion applied directly to the affected vertebra, followed by an audible sound of the release of gas between the joints.

During treatment, many patients usually feel, after a very brief moment of slight discomfort, a pleasant sensation of relief and the improvements are visible from the first treatment.

After an adjustment, patients are escorted to another room where they can rest.

This room has been specifically designed to give the body the opportunity to heal and adjust to the new balance.

Thanks to the right environment and atmosphere created by music and warm lighting, patients can rest, thus giving the body the time it needs to change.

In which cases is chiropractic spinal adjustment advisable?

Chiropractic adjustments are designed to help rebuild your spine, nerves, and discs into a healthy, functioning order.

Adjustments can help with a variety of spinal issues, including:

Compressed Nerves

When your vertebrae are misaligned, they can put pressure on the surrounding nerves that connect to your spine, causing severe pain. Adjustments help move your spine into the correct position, taking the pressure off the nerves.

Poor Posture

Along with exercises and proper posture practice, spinal adjustments help correct posture problems in the neck, shoulders, and back.

Bulges and Herniations

A disc that has pushed out of its original position in the spinal canal puts pressure on nerves, causing pain in the surrounding area and other areas of the body. Spinal adjustments help ensure that discs have the correct amount of space they need.

Disc and nerve problems

Disc and nerve problems can lead to a wide variety of symptoms, which is why spinal adjustments can help reduce neck and shoulder pain, lower back pain, sciatic nerve pain, and eliminate numbness and/or tingling in your legs.

Safety

Is Chiropractic Safe?

It’s normal for people to be hesitant when they learn about chiropractic – in fact, many patients who try chiropractic for the first time have already tried traditional treatments that are commonly practiced without benefit.

Chiropractic today is safer and more effective than ever before, enabling chiropractors to provide care to patients with greater expertise.

As a chiropractor with many years of experience and dedication, I use the most advanced chiropractic techniques to relieve my patients from headaches, back pain, neck pain and other symptoms originating from the spine.
